Heart Based Language - Educating our Global Society Students
June 27, 2013
I am honored to be a part of a learning experience that supports a comprehensive approach toward children through Character Development. Here is a summary of some of the ways I have advanced the principles of character development throughout my career:
Rosa Ana Lozada, L.C.S.W., is the Chief Executive Officer of Harmonium Inc. and has more than 30 years of direct service and leadership in community mental health and social services. Harmonium is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency that annually provides services to approximately 30,000 infants, children, youth, and families throughout the San Diego region. Harmonium offers a wide variety of services designed to promote an integrated approach to well-being through prevention and intervention services. Programs includes infant and preschool child care, counseling, before and after school programs, and youth entrepreneur programs.
Ms. Lozada has dedicated her professional career to mental health reform by promoting family and youth driven services, community based services, non- traditional healing practices, and culturally relevant programs. In her prior position as the Assistant Deputy Director for Children’s Mental Health Services for San Diego County, Ms. Lozada successfully established policies that were instrumental in transforming San Diego’s public mental health system. She also provided leadership in first phase of development and implementation of the Mental Health Services Act for San Diego.
